How to sit & lie down with weights

1) After you have tied up the long nylon ropes to the iron plates.. then drop the weights very slowly down and let it dangle.. dropping the weights too fast may injure your knee…Ryan is wearing 30 lb on his left leg.. this is for illustrational purpose only, thus, you must wear 30 lb on each leg.

2) Illustration: @ side view. Note that the ankle weights are very close to Ryan’s ankle.. by doing so, it is safer that way because you don’t want to hang too far from your ankle. Don’t sit with ankle weights like the method in the picture for too long because your knee cannot handle such heavy weights.

4) Note that I lie down and rest my knees on the bed and only let the shin bone dangle. This is my favorite method to sit with ankle weights because I can bear lots of weights. As in your case, if you lean forward and sit for too long, you are exerting enormous weights on your knee and this is not safe. Thus, by lying down, you can rest your knees on the bed. Also, it is almost impossible to sit with ankle weights for 2 hours straight, because your spine may get tired very quickly. Thus, it is wise to lie down as much as possible to sleep, read a book, or whatever.. be sure to put pillows under your back & head to have an easy rest or sleep.

5) Ryan & King dangling their legs while lying down. Ryan is reading notes from his Bone Remodeling Research.. meanwhile, King is sound asleep.

6) Ryan couldn’t help it.. but fell asleep also.

7) Ryan wearing knee-support strap so that his knee does not have to handle such enormous weights.. it’s optional and you do not have to wear the knee strap.. just make sure that you must lie down and rest your knees on the bed.. Picture above, I’m wearing 25 lb on each leg.. Sitting with ankle weights can be uncomfortable.. therefore, you should protect your kneecap, ankle, shin bone, fibula from any red marks, blisters.. wearing knee-support strap is needed.

8) If you cannot afford knee-support strap, then find a few towels or T-shirts and wrap very tight around your knee..

9) Ryan wearing knee-support strap (left).. King wearing back-support strap on his shin bone (right).

10) Notice that my bed is raised higher because I have red plastic platform underneath it.
